Prof. Dato’ Dr. Ahmad Mujahid Ahmad Zaidi
Prof. Dato’ Dr. Ahmad Mujahid Ahmad Zaidi was born in 1980 in Perak, Malaysia. He received his B.Eng. with Honours in Mechanical Engineering at UTHM (formerly known as KUiTTHO) and completed his PhD in Mechanical Engineering (Specialisation in Impact and Explosion Engineering) at The University of Manchester (formerly known as UMIST). He is currently Dean of Academic Management at Deputy Vice Chancellor’s Office (Academic and Internationalisation) and as a Professor at Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, National Defence University of Malaysia. He is the former Chief Executive of International College of Automotive (ICAM), a subsidiary of DRB-HICOM (a premier conglomerate in automotive industry in Malaysia).
In 2006, he has been selected to present his research on Protective Technology at the House of Commons, United Kingdom. In 2008, he has been invited as an Honorary Academic Visiting Fellow from Impact and Explosion Research Group, The University of Manchester, United Kingdom. He is an active researcher and has produced over 100 academic research papers (including journals, proceedings and technical reports). In research and innovation, his research products has won numerous prestigious awards, among them; a Gold Medal with Special Award by Bulgarian Union of Inventors at 24th Invention and New Product Exposition 2014, Pittsburgh, USA and Double Gold Medals with Special Award (Prize) by Association of Polish Inventors & Rationalizers at 62nd World Exhibition on Inventions, Research and New Technologies 2013, Brussels, Belgium. He is a Chartered Member of Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT,UK) and a Member of International Association of Engineers (IAENG). In logistics and transport, his contribution has been recognised and highly commended for International Young Achiever of the year 2014 by Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport UK. He is also currently serving as an Editorial Board for the number of Journals, namely; Modern Applied Science, Journal of Defence and Security and Australian Journal of Basics and Applied Sciences. Due to his excellent achievements and contribution to the community development, he has been conferred the Darjah Indera Mahkota Pahang (DIMP) award by His Royal Highness Tuanku Sultan Pahang in conjunction with His Royal Highness’s 84th birthday.
